Hot Dates 2: Living as a Shared Wife Read online

“You look like you could really use this,” Jana said, handing me a large glass of homemade sangria.

“Jana, you have no idea.” I greedily drank down almost half the large glass. I didn’t care how hard it hit me. The party was almost over.

“You guys did great. Today was another hit.”

“I would have never done it this weekend if I knew how hot it was going to be. I’m dying.”

“Why didn’t you jump in the pool? It’s right there, silly.” Jana had been in and out all day and her top clung to her bikini top in two wet triangles.

“Because I’ve been in and out of the house all day and I didn’t want to do it wet,” I said. “But as soon as this is over and the kids are in bed, I am diving right in.”

“You don’t need to worry about them. They’re all in the family room watching a movie. All of the sun and swimming wore them out.”

  “Thank god.”

Most of the remaining stragglers left over the next hour and the sun began its descent. Jana offered to help with the clean up, but I told her I was only worried about the things that absolutely needed taking care of—the rest could wait until morning. I saw a couple of Dave’s workers to the gate. I’m a physically affectionate person and hugged my guests as they left. It felt like the men held onto that hug just a beat too long, that their hands strayed closer to my ass than was proper. But their wives were right there. It had to all be in my head. They couldn’t sense that I was somehow up for grabs, could they? I needed more wine.

Jana and I cleaned up the immediate worries and by then she and her husband were the only ones left—or so I thought. I found Dave sitting in the corner of the yard talking to one of the guys from his crew. I thought his name was something like Jeff, or Jim. All that was left was to put the kids to bed and we could finally relax.

“I think we’re about done for the night,” I said, walking over to Dave. “Once the kids are put down we can finally relax.”

“Why don’t I take care of that? You’ve been running yourself ragged all day.”

“Are you sure?” I was only surprised because he appeared to be mid-conversation. Dave is a great dad and puts the kids to bed just as often as I do, if we’re not doing it together.

“Yeah.” Dave turned to his friend. “I’ll be right back.”

“No worries,” Jeff or Jim said.

I wasn’t quite sure why this stranger was lingering. Jana and Neil often stayed to hang out after our barbeques. We would kick back in the hot tub and chat into wee hours of the night. I asked our guest, “Can I get you something else?” My brow furrowed as I tried to recall his name. I didn’t want him to be insulted. “Jeff?”

“Close. It’s Jay. And a beer would be great.”

  “Sorry. It’s been crazy today.”

“It’s fine, really. I saw how you were running around. I’m not even sure we were ever properly introduced.”

Jay unwound from the chair and he dwarfed me, like a mountain had formed before me. I’m only a few inches over five feet, and my husband is nearly a foot taller than me, but Jay was even bigger than Dave. My eyes met his mid-chest. And he was broad, too. Not all the men who work for my husband are in great shape, despite working construction, but Jay looked like whatever time wasn’t spent on a construction site was spent in a gym. His jaw was covered in a couple day’s brown stubble and his smile was crooked. Jay was hot. There was no other word for it.

“I’ll be right back,” I finally managed, once I was finished taking him in.

I turned, but instead of waiting for me to bring him a beer, Jay followed. I crouched down and slipped into the wet bar by the pool. Jana was already in there collecting empty red Solo cups, even though I’d told her she didn’t need to clean up. Jay stood over by the side of the pool and introduced himself to Neil, who’d just come out of the house. No doubt he’d just tucked his kids in upstairs in our house. When our families had late nights together it was easier to just let the kids have a sleepover rather than have Jana and Neil drag their half-asleep kids back down the street. I took a fresh cup from the depleted stack beneath the bar and drew Jay a fresh beer from the tap.

“Who the hell is that?” Jana asked. She was staring at the guys, and I knew it wasn’t her husband who had her attention.

“His name’s Jay. He works for Dave.” I pretended not to be as impressed as she was.

“I can’t believe Dave left you alone with him.”

  “Come on, Jana.”

“I can’t believe any husband would leave him alone with his wife.”

And just like that it popped into my mind that maybe Dave left me alone with Jay on purpose. Was there a reason the big, handsome construction worker was still here after just about all our other guests were gone? That was a crazy idea. We had agreed early on that we would never, ever play with anyone we knew—or even anywhere near our home. Whenever we went on our hot dates they were always far enough away from our neighborhood that there was little chance we could run into someone we knew. I could not see myself explaining that lifestyle to anyone we knew. But despite knowing all that, the thought still entered my mind. Watching me with another man excited my husband more than anything else I’d seen in our years of marriage. Dave couldn’t get enough of it. And Jay really was right up my alley. He was exactly the kind of guy that made me weak in the knees, except for the little ponytail I noticed at the back of his light brown hair, but I could probably overlook that. Jay looked like he could just consume me and I couldn’t help reacting to that, even though there was no way I would allow that to happen. I told myself I was being paranoid, that Dave had not become so depraved he was inviting guys home from the construction site to fuck his wife.

“Are you there, Dana?” Jana asked, giving me a nudge.

“Yeah, sorry.” I didn’t realize I’d zoned out.

Jana took another long appraisal of Jay. “I get it, girl. I could get lost thinking about that hunk, too.”

“Get out of here.” Did I protest too much?

“I’m getting out of these clothes. Time to enjoy the pool. Are you with me?”

Jana ascended the steps out of the sunken poolside bar and pulled off her little baby-t then wiggled out of her shorts. Her black and green string bikini did not cover much, but Jana had the body to pull it off. She hits the gym five mornings a week, leaving Neil to get the kids ready for school. She is tall and lean, with big C-cups Neil bought her for her 40th birthday. Jana is the textbook definition of a suburban MILF. If she was hoping Jay would notice, she was in luck, because he risked a quick glance over at Jana while he talked to her husband. As far as I know, Neil doesn’t harbor the same kind of fantasies Dave does, but how do I really know? I didn’t know about my husband’s until he finally confessed them to me. She walked to the deep end and dove into the pool, slicing through the water.

I followed Jana out of the bar and caught Jay tracking my movement. Jay thanked me when I walked the fresh beer over to him. Neil asked where his was, and I told him to get it himself. I felt like adding, I only get beer for guy like that. I was ready to jump in the pool and grabbed the hem of my sundress, but there was still that nagging suspicion Dave could be trying to set something up and I worried about encouraging it.

“Are you coming in or not?” Jana called from the water.

I reminded myself my worries were insane and pulled the little sundress over my head. My two-piece was more modest than Jana’s—black with a halter top that had little ruffles along the neckline, and bottom that covered more. I still showed plenty of cleavage, but that was pretty tough to avoid with my breasts. I won’t lie, I was pleased to see Jay watching me after he’d seen Jana in her bikini. I work out, but I’m not drum-tight like my friend. There’s still a jiggle to my butt. Rather than dive like Jana, I crouched by the side and slipped into the warm water. It was just as refreshing as I’d hoped and I floated out into it on my back, my breasts pushed up out of the water. Jay kept talking to Neil, but he also k
ept stealing glances at us. It was nice to be checked out by a guy like Jay. I’m sure he has his pick of the hot cocktail waitresses and girls at the gym. I was flattered he was checking out a suburban mom of two like me.

That was the thrill I got from our hot dates. After being with the same man for so long and spending all your waking hours either being a mom or at work, you start to wonder if you’re the woman you were before. It’s easy to lose touch with the girl who wore a skirt and left her panties at home. And you wonder if anyone would care if you did. When I go on these hot dates I recall that sexy side of myself, the bad girl who would act out when the mood struck her. Most importantly, since I’m playing a role on our hot dates, I never worry about being judged. I can be as slutty as I want because not only won’t my husband judge me, he’ll encourage me to go further. Having a man like Jay check me out gave me that same thrill. I just wouldn’t try to act on it at home.

Dave came out of the house and looked pleased to find us in the water. He tossed his tank top on a chair and jumped in the pool, directing a huge splash in my direction. I tried in vain to keep my hair dry. “Come on in, guys. This is the part of the night where we finally just chill out.”

“Sounds good to me,” Neil said. He shed his shirt and joined us in the water. He wasn’t quite as buff as my husband or Jay, but he held his own.

“I’ll just hang up here. I didn’t bring a bathing suit,” Jay said.

“Man, I told you this was a pool party. I have some board shorts you can change into. We’re about the same size,” Dave said.

“You don’t have to do that.”

“You can’t just hang up there while we’re all in the water. It’ll just take a second. I’ll be right back.”

Dave hopped out of the pool and ran, dripping inside the house, which he knows annoys me. Jay stood up there looking sheepish, and I said, “It’s nothing really. You don’t want to be left out. It’s really nice in here.”

“Yeah, we’ve got plenty of room for you,” Jana added. She sat on one of the submerged concrete stools at the bar and I’m sure she meant for him to sit right beside her. Neil just rolled his eyes. He knew his wife was an incorrigible flirt. He saw it as harmless.

Dave returned with a pair of blue and gray board shorts and tossed them to Jay. Dave slipped back into the water and Jay stood by a chair and stripped down. Jay was not shy. He looked like one of the guys from Magic Mike with his shirt off. Jana and I both stared. I couldn’t help it. Jay was that incredible. It’s not that I don’t appreciate my husband—that had nothing to do with my going on hot dates. Dave is a handsome guy in great shape, and I’m not the only one who thinks so. I see the other wives in the neighborhood—including Jana—lusting after him and I know that’s the reason he’s the first one they call when they need something fixed. They’d love to know how good he really is with his hands. But Jay was in a league of his own. His six pack was like granite, his arms like sculpted pillars. He was the stuff of romance novel covers. When he dropped his cargo shorts, Jay turned to the side in a show of modesty, but we could still see the substantial bulge in the front of his clingy boxer briefs. He pulled on the board shorts and I quickly looked away when he turned back toward the pool.

“You girls can stop staring now,” Dave chuckled.

I didn’t answer, but my cheeks flushed in response. Jana was defiant. “Looking is harmless,” she insisted.

“Not the way you were staring,” Dave pressed.

Jay slipped over the side of the pool and came over to join us, holding his beer high, out of the water. We were lounging in the shallow end, near the bar. Besides the stools, there was a low ledge on the sides making sitting in the pool easier. The water came to just below my shoulders when sitting. Now that we were all just relaxing, I realized Jay was the only one with a drink handy.

Forever the perfect hostess, I hopped up onto the bar and swung my legs around to get behind it. I drew beers for Dave and Neil, and poured fresh sangrias for Jana and myself. I climbed over the bar again and I caught Jay looking at me while I was out in the warm night air. I hoped he liked what he saw, but not too much.

“So where’s your girlfriend tonight?” Jana asked Jay. I love my friend, but there is nothing subtle about her. While I moved in close to my husband, she had left distance between her and Neil.

“Don’t have one. Am I supposed to?” Jay flashed a charming smile.

“And why do you care?” Neil asked. He was just a little drunk, so it was hard to tell if he was teasing his wife or annoyed by her flirting. He usually took that kind of thing in stride, but Jana seemed genuinely enthralled by our handsome guest.

“Maybe she wants a date. Look at the upside, buddy, you get the house to yourself for a night,” Dave teased. I sat between his legs, pressed back against him, and I twisted my neck to stare at him.

“You have a point,” Neil agreed. I tried not to read anything into his answer. I did not believe that all men were like my husband.

“Can’t a girl be curious?” Jana feigned offense, but not very well.

If Jay was embarrassed by the attention, he hid it well. He did not seem like the type who was flustered easily. “I’m not sure I want to settle down. I tried it once already and it didn’t exactly work out.”

“What a stupid girl. Help me out here, Dana. Would you let a guy like Jay get away?”

I didn’t like being put on the spot and I stammered before answering. “Maybe he’s incredibly messy.”

“I think I could deal,” Jana said.

Jay flashed another aw shucks smile. “A roll in the hay is one thing. Living with someone is tough, you guys all know that for sure.”

  “You’re telling me,” Neil agreed.

He was a wise young man. Dave and I have a good marriage, but living with someone can indeed be tough. A roll in the hay, as Jay put it, was all about fun, not love and commitment. And it was very easy to picture a roll in the hay with Jay. He stood in the low water, so most of his chiseled chest was on view. The night had grown dark, but we had more than enough lights outside to give a nice view of him.

For an insane second, I thought maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if my husband had brought Jay around to fuck me. Dave’s taste was excellent. I could just imagine Jay pinning my ankles back by my ears and giving me the ride of my life. I shook that image from my mind. No way Dave would risk word getting around his company that he liked sharing his wife.

“So is that what you’re looking for these days?” I couldn’t believe I asked it. It wasn’t like I was interested.

“Hmm?” Jay looked at me—or I should say he looked at my tits floating just above the water before he found my eyes.

“A roll in the hay? A little bit of fun?” I asked.

“I’m always up for a good time. Who isn’t?” Jay asked. I swear there was a challenge in his eyes. It excited me and frightened me. I kept telling myself Dave was not trying to set me up.

“I know I am,” Jana interjected. I don’t think she liked that the attention had turned from her.

“I love a good time,” I agreed. Dave wrapped his arms tighter around me and I felt his cock surge against my butt.

“You should hear Jay’s stories. He’s got married women hitting on him all the time,” Dave said. Was that for my benefit?

  “Really?” Neil asked.

“I don’t know if I would say all the time,” Jay demurred. Modesty didn’t really work for him.

“He’s just trying to be nice for the girls,” Dave insisted.

“So just how many married women have you fucked?” Jana asked. I finally noticed that she’d been moving closer to Jay the entire time and now she practically shoved her tits in his face. And oddly, I was jealous. I expect men to be staring at Jana when she’s around, but I had a new attitude since we’d started our hot dates and I wanted my share of attention. Even though I would never fuck Jay, I needed to know that I could.

  “A few, but not
a lot,” he stated. He could not avoid looking at Jana’s tits now, and he didn’t try to hide it from her husband. He must have figured that if Neil wasn’t stopping her he didn’t mind. I didn’t know about that, but he did let Jana do her thing. “Listen, there’s a certain type of woman, I think, who goes out on the prowl. A lot of them are divorced, but not all of them. I guess maybe the others should be.”

“What type of woman is that?” I asked. I wondered if he would describe me when I was out on my hot dates. Is this who Zach thought I was?

Jay finally seemed uncomfortable with our attention, but it didn’t stop him. You have to admire a man who can be frank. “I think that when women get older, they come into their own sexually. You know, late thirties, early forties.” Jana was in her early forties, but I was thirty-six. I did not consider that late anything. Jay was not that much younger. I pegged him at around thirty. “I think a lot of women get divorced around then and figure out that maybe they settled for the wrong guy and they want to experience what’s out there. Guys aren’t any different. If you go to the right bars you can see them hanging out, looking.”

“And you go to these bars?” Neil asked. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought he wanted to head to one of them himself.

“Sometimes,” Jay answered. There was that smile again. “When I’m looking to hook up.”

“Looking for a sure thing,” Dave interjected. It seemed like he really had heard some stories. Did that convince my husband Jay was the perfect man to take me to bed?

“Maybe. But these women, I hate to say cougars, really are just looking for a good time. They want to go out to a bar, meet a guy, have some fun, and move on. They aren’t looking for entanglements, and they are looking to get their freak on. All those things they were self conscious about when they were someone’s wife are on the table now. They want to feel dirty.”
